Character Information

Name: Satsuki Kiryuin (first name, last name)
Canon: Kill la Kill
Canon Point: about episode 4.
Age: 17

History:

Satsuki is the first-born daughter of Ragyo Kiryuin, head of the incredibly wealthy and powerful Kiryuin Conglomerate and CEO of Revocs, a global clothing company. Her father is Soichiro Kiryuin, who was chosen by Ragyo as her husband for his skill as a scientist. The purpose of the Kiryuin clan is in fact grooming humanity until the day the Original Life Fiber, a giant alien thing, awakens, eats everyone on Earth and Earth itself, and then uses the resulting energy to reproduce and go on to conquer more planets.

Satsuki herself was born as part of preparations for the Vore Day, and at the age of 1 year old was used as a test subject for infusing her body with Life Fibers; she was a failure, so Ragyo used her second daughter for the experiments straight out of the womb. That, too, was a failure, and the baby died (or so Satsuki believes). At the age of 5 years she learned about her mother's experimentations and plans for orchestrating the apocalypse, and decided to devote her life to stopping Ragyo.

She impeccably pretended to follow Ragyo's orders and plans, and rose to power throughout her school years, recruiting trustworthy comrades along the way who would become her Elite Four: the only people who knew about Satsuki's plans of destroying her mother. The culmination of Satsuki's rise to power is the establishment of Honnoji Academy, which she is secretly using to develop the students' resistance to Life Fibers and eventually use them as an army against Ragyo.

Things go awry when Ryuko Matoi appears at the Academy and challenges Satsuki to a duel in an effort to learn about her own father's death. To do so, Ryuko dons a Kamui, a sentient piece of clothing that gives you superpowers, and uses it to beat some of Satsuki's subordinates. Satsuki then steals her family's own Kamui, Junketsu, in order to beat the shit out of Ryuko. After their duel, Satsuki announces that from here on now all clubs are allowed to go after Ryuko's head, with rewards for those who manage to defeat the girl. This is the canon point I'm taking her from.

Personality:

Determined. Incredibly so. As Satsuki herself proclaims, she will do anything for the sake of her ambition, and what we see her do ranges from being abused to manipulating people to hurting or killing them to subjecting herself to incredible pain. The only way to stop her is to kill her. She spent 12 years of her life following Ragyo's orders to the letter and beyond to maintain her trust, despite Satsuki's own disgust at her mother's ideals, to the point that the shrewd and ruthless Ragyo not once suspected her daughter would turn on her. Satsuki is also stubborn enough not to show weakness in front of anyone other than people she trusts: she wears Junketsu with apparent ease and extreme haughtiness, despite the fact that it puts enough of a strain on her she collapses once she's out of public sight.

Resourceful. Satsuki is very good at planning ahead and coming up with new strategies even in the heat of the moment, using whatever she has at her disposal. Held at swordpoint by Ryuko, Satsuki instantly forms Junketsu into a drill to similarly threaten Ryuko herself; thrown off a tower, she again uses Junketsu as a grappling hook; facing off with berserk Ryuko with nothing left but her two daggers, Satsuki still figures out a way to disable nearly omnipotent Ryuko. Her plans are usually multi-layered, and she plays her part in them perfectly convincingly, thanks to her intense personality. It's only at the end of the series that it becomes enough of a pattern that one can realize: even if Satsuki appears to have run out of weapons, ideas and strength, it's still just a prelude or a decoy for something completely different.

Caring. A strange word to describe someone you usually see standing above everybody else and calling people "pigs in human clothing", but it's nevertheless true. Her desire to overthrow Ragyo originally comes from Satsuki's rage at learning the fate of her sister: a child used and discarded as a failed test subject before she was even given a name. This desire evolves further with time as Satsuki plans her rebellion: rebellion driven by her determination to not only avenge herself and her father and sister, but also protect all the people in the world from being devoured by Life Fibers. She is particularly disgusted by her mother saying that humans are an inferior lifeform to Life Fibers, destined only to be a link in the food chain. Her caring can manifest in subtler ways, as well: she tries to prevent Ryuko from going after the very dangerous Nui Harime by telling her it was Satsuki who ordered Nui to kill Ryuko's father (which is a lie). Satsuki also cares greatly for her Elite Four, her only close friends, as well as her butler, Soroi; at the end of the series, she also shows herself as a loving older sister to Ryuko, letting her iron facade drop at last.

Prideful. Despite her kindness deep down, Satsuki is still extremely prideful, coming off as arrogant at times (a lot of the times. Pretty much all the time). Her pride and arrogance are usually based on reality: she is the strongest person in all of Honnouji, be it physically or mentally, and she knows she's extremely intelligent and resourceful. These are facts to her, and she sees no problem in acting accordingly. Her pride is deeply entwined with her determination and stubborness; she dons Junketsu earlier than she planned just because Ryuko wore a Kamui before Satsuki did (and no one, according to her, does anything before Satsuki Kiryuin), and beats it into submission.

Ruthless. During the course of her lifelong crusade-slash-rebellion-preparations, Satsuki is shown to be incredibly ruthless, especially to those who would challenge her. As she puts it herself, someone who attacks her while knowing they are at a disadvantage doesn't have the right to whine. Her fights against Ryuko are very brutal. She also doesn't forgive weakness in her allies; when one of the Elite Four, Sanageyama, loses to Ryuko due to overconfidence, Satsuki is ready to purge him from her circle. Sanageyama, however, wins her trust again by deciding to sew his eyes shut, so that he can never overly rely on them again. This is the level of devotion Satsuki expects from her allies, and no less. During her attack on Ragyo, Satsuki stabs her through from the back, then raises her up, still on the sword, to fling and impale her on a giant cross. Just teenage girl things.

Where and how did your character enter the Hedge?

Retired to her chambers after the day, Satsuki waits for Soroi to bring her tea; the old butler seems to be tardy, however, and Satsuki thinks she heard something in the kitchen. She moves to check on it, sword at the ready, and steps through the door into the Hedge.

Swordfighting, wielding daggers, close combat, constructing elaborate plans, acting ability.

Her sword Bakuzan (alien metal), two faux toenails made of the same alien metal, dormant Junketsu. Doesn't awaken, so it's just a cool uniform.
